UMass Boston’s Online Programs Among Top Universities in The Nation, according to 2025 U.S. News & World Report
The 2025 U.S. News & World Report lists UMass Boston’s online bachelor’s degrees and graduate programs among the nation’s best. Included in the top rankings are the master’s in nursing, which jumped from 83rd place last year to 33rd, and the master’s in education for veterans (No. 27).
UMass Boston’s online programs offer digital access to the same departments and faculty that are available on campus. The rankings reflect the university’s continued commitment to providing access to higher education for all.
Highlights include:
- Online Bachelor's – No. 57
- Online MBA– No. 75
- Online MBA for Veterans – No. 49
- Online Master’s in Education – No. 85
- Online Master’s in Education for veterans – No. 27
- Online Master’s in Nursing – No. 33

Rankings from the U.S. News & World Report are calculated based on student engagement, services and technologies, faculty credentials and training, and peer assessment. The highest scoring programs are those applying the best educational practices for online learning.
